Attached is a great post regarding the importance of a mission statement. The author “gets it.” Mission statements should be short and define why your company exists. He cites some good examples of mission statements from very successful companies including Google and Disney.
My challenge to real estate and construction CEO’s is to review your mission. Can it be understood by anyone or is it convoluted, wordy, and makes no sense at all? If it’s the former, great. If it’s the latter, review this post and see if you can come up with a mission statement that has less than ten words that clearly define the purpose of your company.
